What Is Carry Hope With Us Campaign all about?
Carry Hope With Us was inspired by the central message of The Girl with the Golden Ribbon: when life feels too heavy for someone to carry alone, we can help carry hope for them.
During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month—and throughout the year—we're inviting families, classrooms, hospitals and communities to turn that message into action.

Who Do You Carry Hope For?
Sometimes hope is something we carry for ourselves. And sometimes, when life gets heavy, someone helps carry it for us.
The Golden Ribbon Project was inspired by the message at the heart of The Girl with the Golden Ribbon: that even the smallest acts of kindness, courage and love can remind someone that they are not walking through a difficult season alone.
We invite you to dedicate a golden ribbon to someone you carry hope for, or to someone who carried hope for you.
Because every ribbon has a name. And every ribbon tells a story.
You Don’t Need a Connection to Childhood Cancer
The Golden Ribbon Project grew from a story inspired by childhood cancer, but its message belongs to all of us.
Maybe someone stood beside you during an illness. Maybe a teacher believed in your child. Maybe a friend showed up during a difficult year. Maybe someone carried you through a loss. Or maybe there is someone in your life right now who simply needs to know they aren’t alone.
Whoever comes to mind, there is a place for their ribbon on our tree.
How to Participate
There are lots of ways to be part of The Golden Ribbon Project.
💛 Dedicate a Ribbon
Choose someone you want to honor and complete one of the two statements. Write it on a golden ribbon, create your own ribbon at home, or download and print one of ours.
💛 Share Your Ribbon
Take a photo of your ribbon, or share the story behind it, on @elowman_writes Instagram using the #CarryHopeWithUs tag so we can see the hope you're putting into the world.
💛 Add It to the Tree
At participating Carry Hope With Us events, add your ribbon to our Tree of Hope.
One ribbon becomes two.
Two become ten.
Eventually, a bare tree becomes filled with reminders of all the people carrying hope for one another.
